Starting a New Topical Guide

In order to begin a new topical guide from scratch, start up the program, then, in the menu bar, select File > New. This will open up a dialog box which will allow you to select the folder in which to create the Topical Guide. When choosing the folder in which to store the Topical Guide, keep in mind that the Topical Guide will be saved in multiple files which will be kept in this folder. There is one file called index.xml, which contains some information on how the Topical Guide is organized, and several other XML files in which data is stored. For this reason, we recommend selecting an empty directory which you have created specifically for the Topical Guide.
Once you have selected the folder, click on the "Create" button, and an empty topical guide will be created. You'll then be able to start adding topics.
